Spa & Wellness

Our
Mares

At Tinnakill House, we embrace a future where environmental stewardship and responsible breeding go hand in hand. We operate with a consciousness that extends beyond the racetrack, ensuring that our operations contribute positively to the ecosystem. Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our resource management, land conservation efforts, and the welfare practices that benefit not only our horses but the broader environment they inhabit.

Eco-Friendly Practices

We have set aside just over 10% of our acreage as biodiversity habitats, supporting a wide range of wildlife and pollinators. Our manure management follows a circular system – we compost waste bedding before spreading it on the land. Our watercourses are fenced, we implement buffer zones, and we maintain scrub along the banks at an optimal level.

Land Stewardship

We use a rotational grazing system to optimise sward health. During the winter we utilise our extensive network of all-weather paddocks to avoid poaching the land.

Equine Welfare

The welfare of the horses entrusted to our care is at the heart of everything we do at Tinnakill House. We base our activities on the Five Domains Model, striving as much as possible to achieve a positive mental state for all our horses and ensuring ‘a good life’ at every stage.
